What Drives You To Succeed?

Everyday when I wake up in the morning, I ask myself what kind of day it is going to be. When I go to work, I hope that it will be an event-filled day that will fly by so I can return to my family. Why do I work so hard each day I go in to the office and manage my business? What is my driving force each day? Why do I want to succeed today? 

I think that is a question that we as managers of a property, or a business, need to ask ourselves. What makes you do what you do day in and day out? What gets you back in there after you just had the worst day of your work life? What gets you motivate to take a kick in the teeth and decide to put a mouth guard in and say, More please? For every property manager it is different. Some us like our job because it is demanding, pays well, gets us out of our house, we can travel or whatever reason comes to mind. It is great to like what you do, but what drives you to push yourself to succeed? 

For me it is easy. I refuse to fail. I do whatever it task is before me by giving it my all. I have a responsibility to provide for my family. The way I coach, the way I performance manage my staff and they way I conduct business are all for those two reasons. As a manager, I am seen to possess the skills needed to accomplish a goal. It is what I do with those skills and what drives me to succeed, that will make me a successful business owner.
