Reading through some of the other self storage business blogs, it began to hit me the kind of service that PhoneSmart provides. Not only are we making money for the stores, and ourselves but we are also saving the customers a lot of time and effort, making them ultimately, a happier customer. I actually just got a call today from a woman who did not know the hours of the store that she wanted to store at. She went to the storage facility and they were closed. She was actually calling from the store to find out the hours. I told her that the store had closed for the day and she was ready to hang up. But I used that magic phrase, “Could I help you with storage?” and what do you know: I got a credit card reservation and got her all set up for a unit for tomorrow morning.
I don’t know whether she would have gone somewhere else to store, but I do know that we provided a service to her that probably saved her a little bit of stress. She knew that even though she did not make it on time, the store is still able to accommodate her, which gives her a positive view of the facility. It provides the manager or owner of the store some peace of mind as well. They know that even though they are not there, they are still able to make money and are saved from losing a prospective customer. We help turn missed calls into profit.
