So, when you are in a mystery shop , do not disregard that it is your job. Before accepting any particular shop, find out each and every bit of information about the assignment. Know about the date of report submission, how much you will earn and how much you have to spend at the shop. This will make you prepared for the assignment, so that once you receive the official shop direction, you can be on your way to the shop. At the shop, try to follow the official instructions accurately. Do not contribute to any extra conversation or happenings, which are not mentioned in the instruction list.
To prepare the report on your mystery shop , always give an actual feedback. Give concise answers to the questions on the report. If the shopping company instructed you to write in 5 sentences, then write in 5 sentences. If there is a yes or no question, then answer it accordingly. If the company wants a detailed report, then write it on your experience to the shop. Do not include any events, which you might have learned or overheard from other shoppers. Also, do not make it too large with unnecessary adjectives. Give your opinion, only when it is asked for. Most of the time, the company will ask for the factual report from you. Finally, check your report twice, before sending to the company.
If you think for any mystery shop that you are unable to perform it, then let the company or property managers know immediately. Apparently there may not be any time constraint for you, but there is a due date within which the job should be completed. The company has a responsibility to give a feedback to the banking, retail, storage hotel or other client within the scheduled time, depending on your reporting. So, do not let them down. Also, there are other shoppers who can perform the particular job without any difficulty. So, if you reject it immediately, they will get a chance to work on it and complete it by time.
In case of any emergency, if you find that you can not attend to any particular mystery shop , inform the schedulers or company as soon as possible. It will be better, if you can inform in advance, so that they could get the time to find out another shopper to complete the retail, storage , bank or other assignment on time. It is not preferable that you wait for few days to service your car and end up with rejecting the assignment, when you found your car is still not ready to run. Also, do not make up unreasonable excuses for them. This way, you will lose your credibility to the schedulers and the company.
