Trying to run a direct sales business all on your own can be a very difficult task to do. There are many aspects to running a successful operation and it can be a bit overwhelming at first. It is important to have a quality assurance manager in the office to help make sure that everything is being run as efficiently as possible. This will allow you to spend your time maybe doing some expanded training with some of your of your other employees. You will have more time to do this if you are not spending all of your time trying to figure out if something is worth the time and money that you are putting into. You should focus on the phone room while the quality assurance manager takes care of all that other stuff.

You want to make sure that your phone room employees are motivated to do a good job. You do have to be creative in how you do this since a lot of times the employees who work back there are going to typically make minimum wage or at least around that amount. You could set up a bonus structure based on performance in order to keep them motivated. You would also want to make sure that you are preaching opportunity constantly to the phone room employees. You could tell them about how they could be marketing director or sales manager someday if they keep up the hard work. You could also tell them that they could be a quality assurance manager someday. All of these jobs would help them make an above average income.

The phone room employees need to be motivated so that they sound fun and energetic on the phone. Nobody wants to be bothered at home and have someone sound like they are irritated to be on the phone. If they are smiling and energetic on the phone then they are going to have better luck at getting what they want over the phone. This is the key in both aspects of the phone room but it may be more important when they are getting surveys. It is very hard to say no to someone that is excited and this rule even applies when you are talking to them over the phone. When your phone room employees are getting surveys there are a few key things that they will want to make sure to do to get the most surveys that they can possibly get. To make sure that they are doing all of these things you should work hand in hand with your quality assurance manager on a daily basis.

You want your people doing the surveys to keep the calls pretty short and sweet. In this case you would want to have it be short and sweet. This would be the opposite of how you would want to do an in home demonstration where the longer the better. Have your quality assurance manager listen to some of the calls and see if they have any ideas on how to keep the calls as short as possible. They are just trying to make a friendly impression with the potential customer, qualify them by getting a little personal info, and set up a call back for one of the employees that books the appointments.
