I was doing some competitive pricing recently from our call center, which is something done in nearly every industry. It is a long and tedious process trying to get as many rates as possible over the phone. As most of us know, one of the latest trends is to promote your rates online. If it makes life easier for shoppers like me, then it surely makes life easier on potential renters going online to .
One thing I noticed, however, is the difference in the amount of time I spent on various websites. Some sites focus on giving a quote right away. You can literally pull up all of the sizes and prices by the second “click”. Many of these sites were efficient, but not very attractive. As I went through company to company checking rates online, I noticed that the more attractive the website, the more likely I was to take the time to actually look at the company.
Our company does have an attractive website, but I never understood the value of that hard work until I spent a day looking at everyone else’s. I can definitely say that I was more impressed with the nicer websites and therefore found those facilities to be more memorable.Food for thought: A picture is worth a thousand words.
