Secret Shopping Kudos
-
I am in the middle of preparing more Quarterly and Year End Reports for our clients. While entering in some of the data I could clearly see the point where the training manager or owner began using the secret shops as a training tool and emphasizing their value. The rise in shops over just one month is phenomenal in some stores.
One store in particular stood out to me. They averaged a 13% in the first quarter; clearly, they had a lot of room for improvement. The second quarter did see a bit of an increase with an average of 28%. The third quarter is when they kicked it into gear and began averaging 76%. The fourth quarter was no surprise with an average of 81%. Kudos go to this location and to the managers who have undoubtedly put a lot of effort into improving their performance.
I’d like to talk to the regional manager of this store and find out what methodology he began using to see such an improvement and how seeing his secret shopping scores improve have affected his close ratio and occupancy level. I’d be willing to bet he’s seen a similar increase in those areas.
