It’s not a new idea but some areas are being offered state and federal incentives to businesses that reduce energy costs by adding solar panels to otherwise drab rooftops. How does this affect self storage and property management companies? Well, you already have quite a bit of concrete and metal and probably not a lot of green space on the property. This idea of utilizing what you have is an understated business idea. Because property can be so expensive per square foot, you must make every effort to make the most of every inch. When pricing solar for your business you need to keep in mind that the upstart is not going to be cheap. You must keep in mind the results down the road so that when your system is paid for how good that will feel. Really your roof isn’t considered wasted space, but it could be saving you money. Go Solar, Be Green, it won’t hurt too bad.
