When you are operating a direct sales business you can not be afraid to spend money in order to make money. One of the best things that you can do is have a quality assurance inspection for your entire office. You can do this when you are just starting your business or if you are already established and a well known company in the area. You should be warned that this is something that can and will not be cheap to do. You are going to have to spend some money and you will not make the money back right away. You can be sure thought that a quality assurance inspection will pay small dividends that over time will add up to a lot more money saved that they original investment.
There are a lot of wasteful things that can go on inside of any direct sales office. It is sometimes hard to see if you are in the office on a day to day basis. That is why it can be extremely helpful to have an outsider come in because they will be able to spot more areas where you could cut costs effectively and efficiently than you may be able to. One thing that you will definitely want to make sure that you evaluate is how well your sales reps are closing in the home. That way you make sure that there are no sales that they will miss while in the home. Missed sales can put you out of business real quick. By simply having a quality assurance inspection of the entire closing process you can ensure that there are no sales are being missed.
One key to closing is to lay the foundation throughout the demo by asking buying questions in order to establish want and a need for the customer. If you have done this then the closing process is easier because you are closing on whether or not they can fit the product into their budget and not whether they would benefit from having it. If you are trying to convince them that they want and need the product during the close you are in pretty bad shape. There is literally no way that you can make somebody want something in the close that they do not already want. Your best bet would be to have a quality assurance inspection of the sales reps demo to determine things that they can do differently to establish want.
You will not be able to argue with the customer in the close about whether they want or need your product. This should have been established throughout the demo. You may have not asked enough questions or you may not have built enough rapport with the customer. That is where some of the problems may start and may not be the first place that you look when you start looking for the solution to the problem. It can definitely be a very frustrating situation when you want to do good so badly and are not getting the results that you are looking for. A quality assurance inspection would be beneficial no matter how you are trying to improve the efficiency of your direct sales office. There will typically be no cutting corners and there will be no stone left unturned.
