Directions, everyone needs Directions! Directions are needed for everything and anything, putting things together, learning how to turn something on, and figuring out how to get to a store. Its simple and something you take for granted, always overlooked, but in the end its always comforting and rewarding to know where you're going or what you're doing. Comforting for a customer. Rewarding for a self storage facility.
 
I get calls for directions at least 4-5 times a day. These 4-5 calls are all JUST about directions, but every call should at some point lead to directions because we're all wanting them to show up at the location to rent that unit. We want them to get there safe and we want them to get there quickly and I want to tell them how to do it. Here’s the catch, I'm not a local so I can't tell them if the Mc Donald’s is across the street or if it’s one light or two. It seems trivial, I know, but people like to feel that you know where you're leading them and the only way to get that done aside from awesome service and great knowledge of the storage and how to sell it is EXCELLENT directions. Good directions improve the flow of the call, they create confidence in the caller and in the seller, they contribute to the perception of convenience of the entire location, and in the end it makes things more efficient.

Directions might seem like a little thing at the bottom of the screen, but you start your call and hopefully end your call with them. If they're good its going to be the thing the customer remembers, that ends up getting everyone where they want to go. So, I just want to say “thank you” to all the stores that take the time to REALLY think about the directions they're giving and whether you can understand them, give them, and get there.
