Customers calling around and looking for self storage usually ask what they think they want to know- How much is (10×10). As self storage managers, you hear that question several times a day. As call center reps, we hear it hundreds of times a day.
The truth is that customers ask for the price because they don’t know what else to ask. They don’t know the verbiage we in the self storage industry use such as climate controlled storage, access controlled gate, on-site manager, etc. Therefore, it is up to us to teach our consumers exactly what it is they get with a storage unit.
aren’t just paying for an empty space, they’re paying for amenities, security, peace of mind. They pay for convenience and location.
When you’re talking to a customer about renting self storage, make sure you paint a picture of all the amenities and advantages your facility offers. Once you’ve done that, your customers will value your service even more.
