Here at the PhoneSmart call center we receive calls from all over the U.S. A number of our customers ask us “are you in the area?” They also ask if we are an answering service and sometimes want to know why there is not a call center in the immediate area. How you respond to these questions may determine whether or not a customer wants to store with you, so there are several ways you can handle this.
Sometimes a customer may feel as if they need a person at the actual store location to help them because they might know more than the call center representatives would. This is not necessarily true as we are highly trained professionals.
When answering the question of “are you in the area”, you can simply respond by telling the truth. “No, I am not in the area I am at a sister facility but I do have information on this location. Do you need help with ?”
This will help the caller feel at ease because although you are not at that specific location you have information on the location and you are familiar with it. Also when speaking to the customer try to sound inviting as if you’re inviting the customer into the .
These tips and sales techniques may smooth things out when dealing with customers who are hesitant about speaking with someone not at the facility. A smooth presentation can help create a sales increase for the store you are serving. Once you learn how to overcome this small obstacle you’ll be well on your way to a beautiful sales presentation.
