Overcoming Identity Theft Concerns

I’ve been working here at the call center for about a month and a half now and I’ve been getting pretty good at selling self storage.  No matter how good your sales techniques may be, some people are just not comfortable giving out personal credit card information over the phone. No matter how much rapport or how nice you may sound they just simply won’t do it.  The other day I had to pay my utility bill and I called the customer service number; they had an automated service where you could punch in your credit card number and make a payment.  The service cost $3 so of course I didn’t do it, but I think that if we had some way of transferring them to an automated system where they could do the prepayment. I think a lot of those people who are paranoid about identity theft would be more at ease.  Now this idea may be a long time coming, but I think that our reservations would go up.
