Rewards are a good way to motivate good success among your employees. It pushes them to do the best that they can do. It also makes them feel appreciated and provides an environment where they enjoy their work. I recently had the chance to attend the son of a friend's peewee basketball season. In the league there are no winners or losers. The players are applauded when they score. The concentration isn't on winning but perfecting their technique. At the end of the season everyone on the team was given a certificate for participating.
I believe the same incentives can work in the and property management industry. I work in PhoneSmart's call center and we do have incentives to encourage our employees to do the best that they can do. We have internal secret shopping certificates that are given to the reps when they score over 80% on their evaluations. We also have incentives if we reach certain goals for answer rate and reservations. We also reward the store managers though our Role Play Helpline by providing them with points calling into our helpline. This is a good way to ensure that we reach our goals and make sure the employees are appreciated for their performance and work ethic.
