We have been living in our home for over a year and we love the area. One of the things we don’t love is that some neighbors don’t know or don’t care that we have a homeowners association that sets aside specific rules pertaining to our neighborhood. I am usually pretty laid back but sometimes I have to call the management company and put in a little complaint about a blatant violation. I can go about 3-6 months before it starts to bother me again. The property management company of policing the area but they can’t come out everyday, they have other clients to attend to. The best violation so far was a home that sat vacant for over a year and finally sold. The family moved in and then a pull along campers showed up across the street on a short dead end. It didn’t bother me at first, it was father’s day weekend and lots of people have visitors and friends coming over to visit. After about 3 weeks it started to bother me, then it became obvious people were living in the camper! Ok, that was the last straw; our neighborhood is not a campground.
Property management takes many different forms form personal to commercial and neighborhood. Most neighborhoods should be self policing but no one wants to tick off their neighbor and have to live next to them. That’s where an outside property management company comes in to save the day.
