Here is some great advice for your self storage property, sales or secret shopping.
It is very important to get the customer to engage in a conversation with you in order to find out exactly what they are looking for. The customer knows that they need help to find the solution that they are looking for. Customers sometimes are stubborn and don’t want to give you information because sometimes they believe that us as sales people will use their information to sell them more stuff they feel they don’t need.
Customers need to sometimes get out of their comfort zone and realize that the storage sales reps are knowledgeable with self storage. Without the help of these individuals, they might not get the correct information and they will assume that they have what they need. They don’t realize that the more information they share with the sales reps, the better they can be of help.
The self storage sales reps need to be inviting and personable with their voices so the customers feel that they can trust the words that come out of their mouths. Also, when the customer comes down the store for a visit, the manager need to be warm, friendly and take as much time as needed to answer the caller’s questions. Sometimes the customers need to overcome their own objections with asking for help.
