Green Practices Point To Composting
-
Composting is a wonderful tool for all types of storage and property management - big or small. This is a wonderful green practice that recycles organic materials into much needed nutrients that can be used in gardens, around trees, for landscaping, etc. This practice is also beneficial for water retention, drainage issues, and even disease control on plant life. As an added bonus, composting aids in improved plant growth!
The best part of all? While composting helps to fertilize the soil, it also helps to reduce waste in water treatment plants and landfills. Instead of food waste being sent down the garbage disposal or autumn leaves hidden in garbage bags on trash day, it can all be composted and recycled into something productive.
For large scale operations such as restaurants and shopping complexes there are businesses that specialize in the recycling of these organic materials. However, composting for smaller scaled property management business such as mom and pop motels, self storage properties and small apartment facilities is perfectly feasible. It simply takes a little bit of know-how and commitment. Composting can prove to be a great learning experience for children, recreation for adults, and even exercise for the elderly. And, best of all, there is that feel-good feeling knowing that you have done a little something to give back to Mother Nature.
