Convenience. It’s what we all want and it’s why individually sealed biscuits sell for more than a can of smooshed together biscuits, it’s why people want to move closer to the city, and it’s why you can charge more rent for more desirable locations.
So why then, do we overlook it in our sales presentations. Location and convenience are the number one reason a customer chooses a storage facility. After all, self storage is sometimes a luxury and convenience in and of itself. Tenants enjoy being able to park in their garage rather than stumble over boxes and junk. But they still want to be able to shuffle through their boxes when they’re looking for the Christmas decorations.
Selling the convenience of your location is a sure ticket to gaining new renters. Building value around convenience should be at the top of your list when talking to a customer.
