I left work yesterday riding on cloud 9. Out of 15 other stores in our district, we were sitting on top of the list. In our store, it’s an achievement. My store definitely has the leadership, talent and our procedures (for the most part) in place, but we have been unable to get higher than 11th. We have been looking all over the place trying to figure out what we are doing wrong to keep being in the basement of the district. It’s very hard, as a competitive person, to be at the bottom.
In my department, we are currently eighth in the company. That is huge when you look at other department. I think my people are awesome and I would not replace them for the world or any other team. We have fun all the time, we like the technology that we talk to customers about and most of all we like talking to people.
When you have people on your team that like talking to people and getting to know them, you will be successful. I wouldn’t be at the top of a major retail chain if I didn’t have a dedicated staff. My staff is awesome and I know we will be the store that others come to in order to train their staff on customer service. People will tell their friends and family that our store is the place to shop. That is my dream and I know that my employees will be on board to achieve it.
