  • Being Honest
By joel on July 3, 2011 | No Comments Comments
Do you think that you could give an honest opinion of your company? It is possible for you to put aside your loyalty to your company and tell the boss or the shareholders what you honestly thought need to change around the office? No everyone could do that in fear of the repercussions or what they would actually say. The thing is many businesses are looking for people to tell them the truth about how their company is running. Unfortunately not everyone will be able to come forward with the truth.  This is one of the reasons that companies decide to hire a company outside their business who can give them an accurate truth.
Within most companies, you will find that they want their employees to give their opinion about what is going on in the work place. They want opinions on the management staff, on the processes and also on what they believe their job actually is. When a company wants a survey like this conducted they want it to be honest so they will ensure that the person giving their opinion is not revealed. Even with that said, there will be people in the office who will shy away from being completely honest. Even though they have been assured no one will ever know what they said, they still want to ensure their comments are not linked with them.
In one way the blind survey without the management staff knowing who made the comment is a great idea. On the other hand, if they do not know who made the comment, how can they help that associate? They will not be able to work with that associate to improve their work environment if they do not know they made it. Internal surveys are a difficult idea to incorporate because there are a couple of snags that most business does not see.
The company that is able to get the truth and nothing but the truth from their employees will be the facility that will do the best in the market place. That company will have their employees behind them because they will see that their opinion is valued. No of course the company will have to their part and try to fix some of the issues the employees have pointed out. If they cannot do this, then the survey is a waste of time. The employees will not fill out future surveys truthfully and many resources will be used unnecessarily. Before implementing and internal survey process, ensure that you have the pieces in place to go through all the surveys, report the findings and be ready to change whatever is need to change.

  • Quality Assurance Inspection – Stop Losing Sales
By admin on September 3, 2009 | No Comments Comments

When you are operating a direct sales business you can not be afraid to spend money in order to make money. One of the best things that you can do is have a quality assurance inspection for your entire office. You can do this when you are just starting your business or if you are already established and a well known company in the area. You should be warned that this is something that can and will not be cheap to do. You are going to have to spend some money and you will not make the money back right away. You can be sure thought that a quality assurance inspection will pay small dividends that over time will add up to a lot more money saved that they original investment.

There are a lot of wasteful things that can go on inside of any direct sales office. It is sometimes hard to see if you are in the office on a day to day basis. That is why it can be extremely helpful to have an outsider come in because they will be able to spot more areas where you could cut costs effectively and efficiently than you may be able to. One thing that you will definitely want to make sure that you evaluate is how well your sales reps are closing in the home. That way you make sure that there are no sales that they will miss while in the home. Missed sales can put you out of business real quick. By simply having a quality assurance inspection of the entire closing process you can ensure that there are no sales are being missed.

One key to closing is to lay the foundation throughout the demo by asking buying questions in order to establish want and a need for the customer. If you have done this then the closing process is easier because you are closing on whether or not they can fit the product into their budget and not whether they would benefit from having it. If you are trying to convince them that they want and need the product during the close you are in pretty bad shape. There is literally no way that you can make somebody want something in the close that they do not already want. Your best bet would be to have a quality assurance inspection of the sales reps demo to determine things that they can do differently to establish want.

You will not be able to argue with the customer in the close about whether they want or need your product. This should have been established throughout the demo. You may have not asked enough questions or you may not have built enough rapport with the customer. That is where some of the problems may start and may not be the first place that you look when you start looking for the solution to the problem. It can definitely be a very frustrating situation when you want to do good so badly and are not getting the results that you are looking for. A quality assurance inspection would be beneficial no matter how you are trying to improve the efficiency of your direct sales office. There will typically be no cutting corners and there will be no stone left unturned.

  • Quality Control and Quality Assurance Inspection
By admin on March 14, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Quality control or quality assurance inspection is defined as the assessment of characteristics with respect to defined standards in order to assure quality to the customers for any industry of business.

Any quality monitoring inspection process consists of the following steps

    • Deciding the sample size - The sample size for quality inspection is decided based on the total lot size to be inspected and the criticality of the characteristics involved. International standards such as ISO 2859 help the inspector to decide the right sample size for the inspection.
    • Selection of samples - Once the sample size is decided, the next step is in the inspection process is selection of the samples. Based on this sample, a decision needs to be taken on the entire lot so it should be a true representative of the lot. To ensure this, the samples should be selected randomly.
    • Measuring or Testing - Once the samples have been selected randomly, these need to be measured and tested. Various standards are available which can be used depending upon the characteristics to be measured or tested. Sometimes the customers may ask for the tests as per their procedures, which may be more stringent than the standards adopted by the organization. However, these terms and conditions need to be agreed upon before entering into a contract with the customer.
    • Examining - Some characteristics only need to be visually examined or inspected. These characteristics may look easy but these are the ones, which may become a point of controversy, since these are subjective in nature. For e.g. shade of the color. Again standards come to an inspectors rescue at this time. Moreover, measurement system analysis helps in removing any doubts on measurement, testing or examining.
    • Comparing with specifications - The results of measurement, test results, results of visual examination need to be then compared with the agreed specifications to decide if the goods or the services meets them the very purpose of a QA inspection. If the samples tested meet the specifications, the entire lot is accepted, otherwise it is rejected.
    • Deciding on subsequent action - Based on the quality inspection results and the comparison of the same with the specifications a decision on a lot is taken. The important point to be noted here is the kind of action initiated if the lot does not meet the specifications. If the manufacturer takes action only to dispose off the defect then the defect may reoccur in the next lot too. All this results in wastage of various resources. The right approach in such cases is to find the real reason or the root cause of the defect and then take corrective and preventive action to eliminate these causes and hence assure good quality.

The customer normally decides a QA inspection. If the customer wants to inspect the lot before it is delivered to him, he/she can inform the manufacturer about it. Normally while deciding the order, such conditions are agreed upon. The customer may send his own inspector for quality assurance inspection or select a third party quality monitoring and inspection services for doing this. Sometimes, the customer may wave off the inspection based on past experience with the manufacturer.

In short, quality monitoring and inspection is a way of assuring quality to the customer.
