There are some characteristics that you will have to have in order to be a success in the direct sales industry. You will need to be able to be a leader to a lot of different people. It is a tough business to get into, but you can definitely reap the rewards if you dedicate the time to the industry. You will need to be self motivated and able to assess a situation without emotion for the people involved. Sometimes, you have to make a decision on what would be best for the company and not for the individual. After all, without the survival of the company, all of you would lose your jobs. Opening up your first store will be the most amount of work. You are literally starting from scratch with nothing but your own vision. Granted, you could get a lot of help from quality assurance books, but you will still have to invest of your time into the business. You also will not have a lot of money, so you may have to be more creative with how you accomplish what needs to be done. It is the easiest in the sense that you have control over everything that happens. When you branch out and open other offices, you will have to trust your business to a lot of other people. You can only hope that you hired and trained good people that you brought into the industry. You should suggest that they read quality assurance books so that they get an idea of how to run an office just as efficiently as you would run it. You want them to run the office like you would run it. When you are looking for people to be sales managers for another branch that you are getting ready to open up, it is always wise to promote from within. This is good for two reasons. You will be able to put somebody in there that already knows that business inside and out. You would also be able to motivate your current sales reps by pumping them up about the opportunity of the future.
There is a lot you can learn from quality assurance books that you would have trouble finding in other places. One thing is for sure, you would be unwise to not look to them as a constant aid in making sure that you are giving your business everything that it needs to grow.
