A Walk In the Park

I am not a big fan of the outdoors. I grew up in the city and have no love for the open fields and clean air. Against my disdain for the outdoors, I took my family to the park last night. My son loves the outdoors and especially loves the park.
As we were walking around the trails and watched the squirrels run around, some people were walking around with their doggies. Isaiah, my son, loves doggiess and wants to touch and pet them all (he’s two years old). Well, whenever he would see a dog he would yell out,” Puppy, puppy!!” He would then stop walking and stand there until the puppy came to him. Some people were not as nice to let Isaiah touch their puppy. They kind of smiled and then walked right passed him and he looked at thie with disappointment.
We walked a little bit more and there came a huge (I mean huge) dog trotting down the path and Isaiah bellowed out again for the puppy. This dog owner decided to stop and let Isaiah play with their dog. The dog’s nose came up to Isaiah’s nose and he was a little a scared of him at first and then warmed up to dog. I appreciated the friendliness of this dog owner. She didn’t walk passed my son who had his arms outstretched wanting the pet their dog. She took some time out of her walk time to stop and play.
What does this have to do with ? People appreciate sometimes when the manager or an associate is over-friendly or friendly at all. Most times they will rent with whomever was nice to them vs. someone that wasn’t very friendly. Go the extra mile and smile as you are speaking to your customers. They will see the friendliness radiating through your voice.
